Will they fit before I lift it? I can put them on today.

It's easier to see where to cut without a lift.

If you lift and don't cut, you'll probably hit as soon as you go over a speed bump or ramped driveway, (or anything that compresses your suspension).

Unless you're going to put travel limiters in, I'd put the new tires on now and cut what's needed.

Well I know the TRD Pro sits a little higher than the TRD OR does, I just wasn’t sure if I’d hurt my truck mounting them before the lift.

Some people run that size on the pro and say it's fine

@Stefan_Ray - Any updates/feedback on your new tires and maybe a lift?

    That’s an old post. lol

    I’ve had 2 Tacoma’s with 285/75R16 since I asked that question.

In my honest opinion, this is the size tire that should come stock on these trucks. The ride and feel of the truck on the road is so nice and absolutely noticeable.

Thanks for the update and pic...Sorry, newbie here, but thought the thread was from just 6 month ago (nov 30,2018)...if you've had 3 Tacos since then, i quit my job right now and working for you!

285 reviews vary so wildly on here...some (like you) say it's great, while other say regearing and SC is 100% required with 33s...

Sorry. I saw this thread was from my TRD Pro.

Definitely do not have to re-gear. 100% absurd. I’ve never had to CMC or cut anything. I’ve had 3. I would know. And they 100% drive and ride better.

    Here’s the 3 I’ve had/have.

I get about 17mpg. The BFG KM3’s are good, but I’m partial to the Cooper STT Pro’s.

I have a 2.5 Toytec lift on the Cement and the magnetic grey. The TRD Pro is stock.

Wait a minute, to be clear... you've bought three Tacomas over the course of six months?

I wish this was my experience. I have a 2.5" lift and tried 285/70/17s, changed my wheels and even did some light trimming etc and the rubbing was horrible when "stuffed" at all. For just driving on flat road it was perfect, but if I was going to do any type of offroading (or backing out of my driveway) then the rubbing was bad. Now i'm back to figuring out what tire size to go with.

Aftermarket UCAs? A proper alignment should help

I have JBAs (which have some clearance issues of their own) but I did have it aligned as well. It helped, but still a lot of rubbing on the cab mount when semi-stuffed at anything close to a full lock. It's not the end of the world, as I could have chosen to just move forward with the CMC, was just hoping to be one of the lucky ones!

Gotcha. I'm still working on getting some LCA/ alignment issues sorted out but I had the opposite issue. Rubbing on the FRONT of the fender liner because the SPC UCAs allow for high caster at the LCA. Trimmed a little up front and no more rubbing. So more caster should help you for sure

Finding a wheel with an offset of “0 to +25.” Wheels with -10 to -15 are the culprits of rubbing.
