Ok to run these tires with changing gears? I have 265 R16 right, want to jump to 285 R16. Thanks.

if you don't want to regear I wouldn't go any bigger than a 285/75/16.

Truck has 16x8 rims on now, would I need a bigger lift to fit tires?

285/75/16 is pretty close to a 33 inch tire, I would recommend atleast 2 inches of lift to fit those, also if your running stock rims you would either need to run spacers or rims with a more aggressive offset so you don't rub on your upper control arms

yes you would need a lift to fit those. even with a lift you still might rub on the fender liner and the cab mount but most likely only at full lock

I have 3in plus 1 in body lift and hammered the pinch weld trimmed fender liner and the front bumper and I finally no longer rub with 285/75R16 and wheels with 3.5 backspace.

Thanks for the info , good thing I held off buying the tires. I'm in the process of getting lift options from rock tech auto in la habra.

It has alot to do with what backspace your running and where your going to rub. I think 4in backspace would be best, Im going to test this out on my wifes tacoma.
