So I just picked up a '22 TRD Pro. With the factory lift on the new '22s will I be able to run 285s without any additional lift? (ie: Westcott Design)

    Thank for any input

What lift? The OR comes at the same height doesn’t it? Should be about 21” from center hub to fender.

short answer, no. Not without likely rubbing

you could probably due 255/75/17’s which is a 32” tire and a heck of a lot lighter

You can definitely run 255/85/16s without issues and they're just as tall

Only in the front iirc. But it doesnt matter because lift wont help you clear the cab mount when you compress the suspension or turn sharp.

So is it the width that's an issue?

It’s hard to get a straight answer on this. I’m going to do it anyway when mine comes in. From the searching I’ve done it sounds like on the stock TRD Pro Wheels the fit pretty well with only minimal rubbing.

I haven’t put different tires on mine yet, I know 265/75/16 will fit. I have heard mixed reviews. 285 will “slightly” run at full lock up seems to be what I have seen. I think the width of the 285 might be what leads to slight rubbing.

I run 285/75/16s and with a 2.5 in lift still had to CMC. They're simply too wide and will hit the wheel well. Cmc fixed it but a lot of folks understandably don't want to cut their frames up. If you want the height just go pizza cutters.

Not without a lift, the biggest you can run are 265/75/16s on a stock PRO (at least on '21 and '20, not sure if the additional 5in makes a difference) That said, 285/75/16s will fit on WD lifted PROs with only minor trimming and no CMC according to WD.

There are to many tire/wheel combos to get the answer you want. You are going to want to keep them as close to the upper control arm as possible ,will keep them out of the cab mount/fender area. If you really plan on using the truck take a few hours and remove the struts so it's at full bump and see what the clearance is turned and figure in for some bump compression as well. Take some 1x or 2x wood and cut to make up the increased tire dia and split the width and use as a gauge to see where your clearance issues will be.

My SR is 21.5 from center hub to fender. Wouldn't the PRO be higher?

measurments center of hub to fender are all that matter to determine lift amount.
21” is a stock TRD OR.

1.5” of lift is relative/means nothing without measuring

I put on skinny 33s and still needed cmc. YMMV on skinnies.

I’ve had 285/75/16s on my all stock 18 pro for 50k and never rubbed. Hunting, fishing, wheeling, it’s fine. They will rub if you have mud flaps but don’t rub the cab mount or uca. I don’t see why the newer pros wouldn’t be any different unless they changed the backspacing.
