very true. Was pretty easy on my SR - CMC and fender liner massaging was all I needed.

lmfao. Has nothing to do with 10-ply as much as it does a heavy tire/wheel combo with shitty stock gearing and an AT. Could put heavy beadlocks on with 8-ply C rated and still fuck a tranny up all the same.

solution: regear. I think it’s funny when people throw new big wheels and tires on a system DESIGNED for stock tires and then get all surprised when it stresses that system.

Well yeah its not only 10 ply being the problem, agreed its the weight in general. Nobody ever really talks about strain on the tranny or torque converter, I only see folks talking about large wheels rubbing in the wheel well, lost mpg's, lost acceleration power, stress on the cv from a lift changing the geometry, but first time ive seen a comment about larger tires wearing your torque converter...to me that comment rings of experience and makes me thing twice about stuffing 33" skinnies on there, i want my truck to last and dont have the money to regear

That’s 100% why I took mine off until I decide on 285s or 315, and 4.88 or 5.29 respectively. My MPG was also dogshit with stock gearing. Clearing 285s in the fender is the easy part IMO.

I too want my truck to last as long as possible.
