On my old 06 I had the same TRD Ivan Stewart rims with 285/75-16's and no matter how much trimming I did I couldn't stop the rubbing. I had Donahoe Racing coilovers up front at the time (about 2.5-3" lift) and TC UCAs. Sold the tires at a loss and just went with 265/75-16s.

yes, I have done the mods
every setup is a little bit different - just due to the bazillion possible combinations of coilovers, control arms, wheels and tires. To a certain extent, you gotta kind of try it and see how it goes.

BTW, Ivan Stewarts are 4.5" backspacing with a 1mm offset.

I'm running 285/75/16s on stock wheels, no spacers and no lift. Also no trimming. I've only gotten a little rubbing on the uca at full lock In reverse.

Got my Icon stage 6 set at 2" lift and 265/75/16 KO2's rub the inner part of the splash guard just barely when turned all the way, definitely no 285's without A LOT of trimming

Yeah, for what it's worth, I just had my lift installed for 3" in the front. Wheels have 4.53 backspace and I got 285/75/16 duratracs. Had to trim quite a bit just for street use, can't imagine how much trimming it would need if I wheeled it hard.

Stock UCA's? What did you trim? CMC too? What were your caster numbers, or did you not get it aligned?

Still have stock UCAs. Trimmed a tiny bit where the front mudflaps were, then a decent part of the front bumper and splash guard. No CMC. Toyota did the alignment and said it was fine. I didn't get the numbers, but I should have. It drives fine but there is a very slight pull and the steering wheel shakes and responds to bumps a little bit, but it is not bad. I'm getting my last free oil change next week so I may ask about it.

I kinda figured it would be like that with the stock UCAs. I'm not too worried about it because LR UCAs will probably be my next purchase when I have the cash. It's really not too bad though...may not be great for the tires/truck though...

Would LR UCAs make the truck require less trimming??

In short, no they won't reduce the amount of trimming

Interesting. See if you can still get alignment numbers. Those uca's will allow for greater caster over stock, and should mean less trimming around the mudflap area where I think it's harder. What lift did you go with?

Bilstein 5100s all around, OME 887 coils and an AAL. Ride is fantastic in terms of stiffness and bumps and whatnot. Only thing that would make me happier with it is new UCAs! Fastest I have gone so far is around 60, curious to see what it's like at 75+. Also haven't left the street yet :(

Nice, I think with bilsteins at .85 with those coils, you are at a full 3" without spacers. Is that were you have them set at? I cant wait to get OME's on mine! But yes, some UCA's will make you a happy camper.
