any of you guys ever run 295 75 16 size of a tire? I was thinking of ordering the nitto ridge grapplers in this size. I've ran mud terrains for years but I want to try these out since they're pretty aggressive but will be more quiet on the highway. where I live there's very deep snow often times as well so I wonder how they'll do. thoughts? :boink:

NEAT. I must be getting older because I kind of want a tire that doesn't drone the duration of a 16-hour road trip lol.

I run a 295/70r17 and honestly I'll get a 285/75 or just another set of 285 70's next the weight gain to the "height" just isn't worth it. This is a 285 next to a 295 same tire model un mounted a 295 is also an absurdly oddball size to find some days.

that's a bit of the mindset I was under as well but for whatever reason the 295 nittos are $10 cheaper a tire than the 285s. think I'm averaging 16 or so miles per gallon right now imagine I'll lose one going with the larger size.

They will be clearing them out for cheaper as it's a weird size. I saw a 7lb difference between my 285 and 295's also note without a cmc these are most likely not going to clear.

That makes sense... It is a very marginal difference I'll probably end up going with the 285s. I did the cmc some time ago too.

I love my 295/70r17 geos. They are dumb heavy though.

It is tempting but I'm sure mountain passes would be more cumbersome with the heavier tire. What kind of MPGs do you get?

generally between not good and eh. I tend to drive quite conservatively and hover around 16 +/- 1 with good mix of city and highway. I went to the mountain today and got 14.4 there and 21 on the way home! Prior to lift and the meaty tires I was around 19-21 average. That being said, I still have a my big ass heavy tent on top.

I’d personally go with Cooper AT3 XLTs in the 295 flavor. Only weigh 57lbs and are $285/ea on TireRack. 10lbs lighter than the Nittos

I found one forum on wheel weight, rotating mass, etc that had some good info. The difference between the 2 is about 7lbs which i guess is the equivalent of adding 112lbs to your truck because math. So even then that's not a crazy difference. Like having extra tools n such. I might jump on it in a couple weeks when I have the funds. I've just got a bestop camper shell, bumper, and a winch so nothing too crazy.

I feel like it is basically a game to see how heavy you can make your truck before it decides it doesn't want to play anymore. Fortunately the taco ain't a quitter, it just gets more thirsty.

I've ran those on an S10 blazer they're pretty good but I like the AT MT in between. Something good for DD and is still strong at 15 PSI in the rocks n sticks.

The aesthetics are what ultimately made me pick the geos. They look mean. I got a solid price on them too which didn't hurt.
