Is anyone running 295/75/16 on factory trd rims and without a lift. im not sure of the offset on those particular rims. Just got my son a 2105 Taco and he is wanting a bigger tire. trying to figure out what he can fit without too much rub until he can get a lift. Also are 5100's a good economical lift. he wants 6" and I'm telling him 2-3 to keep ride good. Thanks in advance

Yes, my fault. I should’ve specified I’m talking about 2nd gens only. Unsure about 3rd or 1st gens.

If it were me on factory rims I would run 255/85/16. It's a true 33" and you won't have any rubbing or fit issues. If you go wider you are going to be into spacers, CMC, fender remolding, etc.

5100's are a good economical option and you will get improved performance over factory too. Depending on the look you are going for you will likely want an add a leaf (AAL) in the rear as well.

Above 2.5" you will need new UCA's, so you may want to keep it to around 2" unless you want to go that route.

6" lifts look cool, but that's about all they do in my opinion.

OEM Wheel width may inhibit your tire selection. Double check that before you head down to the tire shop.. They can be sticklers.

500 mile review for the 295 XLTs. Now that Ive got the Ridge grapplers on the 4runner and the XLTs on the Taco, the XLTs are just soo quiet. Granted the RGs have 18k on them, I dont remember them being this quiet.

Got a few days of rain and playing around, the XLTs feel great in the rain and are pretty fun when pushing it. The tall sidewall likes to deform and feels pretty grippy, but also gives the steering a spongy feel.

Also, only got 500ish mile on them, but two tanks in and the MPGs are the same as the 265s, actually maybe a little better on the highway. My exhaust is a little quieter too, since I'm running around at about 200 rpms less. Still good for daily driving, but 35s might make 6th gear useless.
