Lift turned out good! To the untrained eye, Can’t really tell with stock wheels n tires but I gained 1.5” all around. Used westcott in front, and icon progressive AAL in rear.

    This was height before....

    This is height after.

Over all I am pleased with this set up. Truck seems more planted and I can even hang turns and the body roll has been minimized a lot with this lift. Set my caster to 2.6-2.7 to help with fitment of new tires. I know I’ll have to trim part of the bumper and some plastic underneath.

still waiting on wheels to come in but will post it here as soon as they come in and I get the 295/70r17s mounted

    Yup not a 32.1 like a 285 a 295 is a 33.3 solid for me best tire size for 2.5+ inch lift

First big trip since the 295s went on a while back. Super impressed. Minimal rubbing mainly on sudden compression off a ledge or something. Definitely more I can trim though. Yeeeewww too long since a proper trail trip! Way too much fun.

What wheel BS do you run? It looks like the 3.5”?

Reason I ask is... I have 295s on 3.5” BS SCS F5s with ~3° of castor. I found that I rubbed on the fender flare, then the actual fender itself, which I trimmed... (see a few posts back).

Then when I began to wheel harder I found more rubbing on the fender (which caused a dent in the fender) and trimmed them more.

if you look carefully you can see the dent in the fender from the tires hitting it.

I also realized I rubbed on the firewall and had to take a hammer to it.

But also on found rubbing on the inner fender. This is the kicker! Rubbing on the inner fender when I took big steps or whatever wheeling along with stiffer poly radiator bushings caused cracking in my core support near the radiator bushings.

So if you are running the 3.5” BS F5s beware. There will be more rubbing that is causing damage in the background.

cracking in the core support caused by me smashing my 295s in 3.5” BS wheels against the inner fender when I wheeled hard

So much yes in this thread!!

I think I’m gonna skip the 285’s and go straight from my 265’s to 295’s

these are too wide to fit on the stock 7 inch wheels right?

I'm running the 4.5" BS actually. Similar caster around 3 degrees. So far I think it's saved me some headache. I did notice small rub on those 2 spots at the top of the inner fender you pointed out when stepping down off a ledge. It seemed pretty low impact though and I don't believe there's any cracking behind the fender wall. But that's really good to know so I can keep an eye on it. I probably will have to cut more off the lower corner of the fender flare so it sits more flush with my cmc and flat pinch weld. But honestly that trip is about the hardest I can see myself wheeling (I think?) so hopefully it gave me a decent baseline of rubbing issues.

Depending on what tire you get yeah, I think bfg recommends 7.5" min. I mounted my spare on the stock steelie though at the recommendation of another TW user and it mounted fine but I guess I'll find out what happens when it gets used!

Stock will soon lift 3” with a set of 16x8 with 0 offset wheels.
What off set are you running? I’m looking to get a 16x8 with 0 offset. But not sure if a 295/75R16 make contact with the upper control arm. Will have a 3” lift done on it.

May I ask what UCA's you guys are running? Was thinking about JBA's. Someone posted they were rubbing with 285's on JBA's. Which I presume would be worse with 295's.

You will rub somewhere and have to trim anywhere between some and a lot with 295s. The question is where. And it depends on your wheel specs. What wheels/lift do you have?

I run 295/75r16s on SCS F5s that have -25 offset and 3.5” BS. No where near rubbing my Total Chaos UCAs (or any UCAs for that matter) instead, because my wheels stick out further... I rub the firewall and inner fender. And had to trim, trim, remove, trim, because I didn’t want to limit travel with bump spacers.

So it all depends on the wheels you want to use.

I am not too worried about rubbing on anything else as I know i'll need to cut and re-mold plastics. It's just the UCA I am worried about. I bought some SCS SR8's 17x8.5 -10 offset, 4.3 BS i believe, maybe 4.5 but i believe 4.3, Purchased Toytec 2.5-3 inch lift kit. progressive AAL in back. Not sure if I would even need UCA's tbh. But just looking for more info. Thanks.

You will need after market upper control arms with that kit. And you will not rub them with those wheels.

I assume you’ve read up on what it takes for 285s and 295s. You have to do more than “cut and re-mold plastics.”

You will have to cut some plastic in your wheel well liner and the bottom edge of your fender flare.

But also have to do a cab mount chop, hammer your pinch weld, and cut more than you think.

And if you wheel hard... you will find more trimming/hammering the longer you have the 295s on

Luckily .. Don't wheel hard. Occasionally very lightly. I do have CMC plates handy for CMC. I get the gist with the other cutting. I won't be doing it myself but do have an experienced guy on my side that will take care of it. I will proceed with buying UCA's. I haven't heard enough bad about JBA to not buy them. Would you be able to enlighten me on those? or what you may have heard from that brand?

also plan on getting the BAMF hybrid front bumper by end of the year. So i'm not too worried about it.
