Just busting balls here, but Toyota not only developed a fix (bed extender), but they also built a longer version of the shortbed. Can't remember what it's called right off hand...something about a longer bed...

I have a 26" Marin full suspension bike, medium frame, and fairly short compared to my hardtail, but it doesn't fit either. Got a used 2nd gen bed extender for $75 and 'fixed' it. Then I got a bed rack and 'unfixed' it. Now I'm rocking a hitch mounted solution. Easier than taking the front wheel off and locking it in. I highly recommend.

I would sell my truck before going through all that. I get pissed heaving my MTB on our Subaru roof, much less a lifted truck

What "fix" were you expecting? Did you think there was a solution that could make your bed longer?

I don't know where Rockland is, or why you're telling people to go TF back there, but your sticker has me convinced. I may start shouting it at random people. Also, is that Plano box watertight?

Tailgate pads and racks are cheap. I see of alot of expensive ways to gall your fork dropouts, kill mpgs and smash your shit into garages...

You are correct. They do make a long bed, but I wanted my truck for more than just bike hauling. So where it works in most areas, there are areas it falls short of my needs/desires.

Some of us try to work on creative solutions for minor inconveniences that plague these trucks so people like you can benefit. There are companies that thrive on creating solutions from "problems" such as these. Think KBVoodoo who makes bed rack brackets to work with different bed covers. If we all approached this like you, we'd say "well don't have a bed cover if you want a rack" or "Buy a 4Runner if you want a cover". Just a thought for ya.

    Bingo!

2 kids. 1 small bike w/ training wheels and 1 carrier that goes on my bike. It's not a major problem, but I have had issues when I go to a campground with tents, ice chests, etc. It gets pretty crowded back there.

I have a Felt 7Eighty (27.5"). I use a SeaSucker Talon bike rack that I have left over from a previous vehicle that didn't have a bike rack. In the Taco, I suction cup it to the back glass, and lock the front fork to it. Then I just run a bungee cord through the rear tire to keep it from hopping all over the place.

I'm considering two of the suggestions as I noted in my post(s). You may have missed it.

I just noticed that you are a vendor as well. I'm not the only one who has asked this or is interested in correcting the 'issue'. Create a fix and sell it to me for $100. What are you complaining about?

The only reason 29ers exist is the typical American is so out of shape they couldn't bunny hop a tall boy at the trailhead never mind riding around in terrain

29ers have been decimating the UCI Downhill World Cup for the past two years.....so yeah Toyota is just catching up!

My 27.5 fits, I do not have the front rail though... mounted the thru-mount directly to the front of the bed. If I had a front rail it wouldn’t fit. My frame is also a Small.
