let it come off of high idle then drive it gently until fully warmed up.

I do that in Florida with 0w-20. You do that in Canada in winter?

I wonder how much of what these utah boys are findng with diesel warm ups apply to small gas like the 2GR?? They are talking about long idle warm ups not getting the rings hot enough to expand letting fuel in to the oil diluting it...

im not a mechanic and never thought much about it but it seems like it would be common knowledge for mechanics. These Utah boys are pretty heavy hitters so Im surprised they are just now learning about this.

Is this common knowledge for y'all gas mechanics?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Start it. Say a spectacles, testicles, wallet and watch then lay that mother down.

I start it when I let the dog out in the morning, put her inside and then hop in and go. So maybe 5min warm up and then I drive it like its warm. Leaving work after sitting all day I turn the key put it in gear and go. No warm up and I drive it normal.

During the winter months I let it warm up completely during hot summer months I let it run long enough for idle to start dropping and go.

Sometimes when I'm late for work I've got it in reverse while the engine is still cranking

I “needed to head down the street to check something out” and started it and took off, thought about how no one on tw would’ve been ok with that.
But this boat was drifting and I had to go see

I live in the Midwest with freezing winters and I only warm the truck up maybe 1 min after it comes off of high idle. The truck inside does not get any warmer until you actually load the motor and drive. When it’s nice outside as soon as it’s off high idle I’m gone haven’t had any issue with it.
