I have never heard of Lexus engines blowing up, actually I have always heard the opposite. I’m sure this 3.5 will last for many trouble free miles.

Change the oil regularly and use good gas, good to go.

They’ll be 2016’s with a million miles on them, and people will still be asking “are these trucks reliable?”.

3G tacos, like it or lump it, are taking shit and abuse with ease all over North America as the off-roading craze sweeps the population. Even the novices don’t seem to be able to kill these things . Tonnes of newbs jacking these trucks up, fitting 800lbs of armour, 34” tires, and driving them down the freeway in 4Lo at 70MPH, with the locker on, and these trucks just take it.

I have had to rebuild my 2GR-FKS everyday since I purchased it. Just so sad that reliability is so bad! Start it up> rebuild. Shut it off> rebuild. Some day I will just have to > part out!

No one has had a 3G frame replacement. Stop making up stories. There was a frame coating applied under a TSB is all. Enjoy your Ford.

This thread has me concerned about my Tacoma's reliability. Should I sell it and buy a Fiat Chrysler?

Honda Ridgeline could be more reliable than a Tacoma.

A Camry is probably more reliable than a Tacoma
