I spent almost 10 years working in a Ford only Autowrecker during the late 90's early 2000's. I have always been a Mustang fan. I have torn apart more than my fair share of Aerostars and lots of other Fords. They were well put together vehicles for the most part. The Cologne 45° V6 engines had problems but were fairly reliable as a whole. It was always the A4LD transmissions that were the weak points. The differentials were indestructible. Especially the ones that came with the 8.8" diff.

I learned a lot there. It was a great job. Helped me build several Mustangs and a hell of a 1991 Explorer with a 5.0L and 5½ lift. If I worked at a Toyota wrecker now, the things I could learn about these things...

I love v8 engines but my work vehicle has an Ecoboost v6 and it does pretty well for itself.
