I am new to this forum. I currently have a 3rd gen Tacoma with a 2in level. It is sitting nose high and going to add a 1in rear block soon.
I am running a 265/70 tire. Should I go to a 275 or 285? Or does it look ok the way it sits. Just looking for opinions.

I like that tire size. There is a 2/1 lift thread where you can see different size tires.

I like the 265/70's. They look like they fit the truck.

What’s your wheel offset/backspacing? That has a huge factor into what tire size you can run, going to a 275 or 285 might be wide enough to cause rubbing. Also going to assume here that you’re still using the OEM upper control arms.

If you stick around here long enough you will want 285 at least

I think it depends what "look" you're going for. In my opinion a big tire on a smaller lift looks good. It looks like you use your truck and did the work to get them to fit. Instead of shelling out money for a lift and then not having money or motivation to get/fit bigger tires.

265/70 or 265/75 look very strange on a lift bigger than 1.5"

First pic is 2.5" lift with 265/70/17. Second pic is 295/70/17

285s cause they look good in pictures (old pic, but I like how the front tires look from this angle).

That's a great combination, look, performance, no calibration issues, good solid shocks, Bilstein 5100s are hard to beat and just a nice simple lift, less is sometimes best. That's similar to what I did. Keep it simple, my hats off to you.

265/75/16 will still have calibration issues as they are larger than stock. Still a great looking truck!

How do you figure when these trucks are coming from the factory showing at 2 to 3 mph faster when compared to a GPS. For example when I did 265/70s my speedometer is more inline with the GPS than before, as like everyone else who goes to this size. So with the 265/75/16s being slightly bigger than stock it only makes sense.

That’s the first time I’ve heard of these trucks coming from the factory showing faster than they really are. I can’t see how any manufacturer could knowingly let that happen. If true, however, then I stand corrected
