I love that. Is it going to be 4wd or 2wd? Either way it looks like fun. What are you doing for wiring the motor? I’m going to try to use the stock computer with the motor I got. But if that fails I will have to go a different route

Thank you! It’s going to be a 2wd, I have two transmissions one auto and one stick. For now going auto to avoid adding a clutch. lol but I’ll be changing the later.
As for the ecu im using the ecu that goes with the 2jz motor. Mine came out of a Lexus SC.

the tricky part is the wiring for the gauges but we’ll be figuring that out too.

rear end is Ford 8.8. I’ll eventually find a 9 inch.

Awesome. Are you going to turbo yours? Sounds like fun. I want to see yours finished. Going to be freakin awsome. What transmissions do you got?

Excited to see some more results. What's the weight difference between the 5VZ and the 2JZ?

    It’s the R154 tranny.

I am not going to turbo right away but yes once I Convert I’m thinking twin turbo and then upgrade the rear end to a Ford 9 inch or else I’ll be spinning and burning rubber lol

I guess it depends what’s on it.

assuming starter and all, close to 500 lbs. both would be pretty equal.

I saw someone weigh it on another site.

    see below

Ok people gess no more i weighed my 5vz today and it weighed in at 505 lbs this is the engine with supercharger clutch and stater there was also the question on the 2jz weight well it weighed in at 510 lbs minus clutch and starter.

I see, I remember hearing how fat of an engine the 3.4 was and thought it'd be heavier. Might be thinking of the 3.0 though

I think you can get better power out of a big single turbo. Does anyone make a twin turbo set up for the 2jz ge? I know they are totally different heads. The stock twin turbo that came on a 2jz gte will not bolt up to a 2jz ge head. I ordered a turbo kit for the Tacoma swap form cx racing and I didn’t realize until I got it that it wouldn’t work. They are sending me the ge one now.

I got my motor in for good I hope now. Here is some pictures of modifications I had to do. upload_2021-5-1_23-34-34.jpgupload_2021-5-1_23-34-34.jpgupload_2021-5-1_23-34-34.jpgupload_2021-5-1_23-34-34.jpg
I had to modify my transmission mount. And drill in my turbo oil return line. I also added a new oil drain in the pan that I could access.

I also deleted my brake booster. I don’t know if it will still stop good. But it was in my way. I will show more pictures tomorrow.

Thanks to a couple of my brothers. It’s wouldn’t be really possible without them. I don’t know how to weld smooth enough to do it. I think it’s turning out good.
