At 16PSI you should be virtually at that limit. About 420-450bhp on a relatively unrestrictive loop and lowish temps. Seems like Toyota sized the engine and tranny accordingly. I think you could probably safely daily 12PSI FWIW.

Btw I brought this up a while ago and dropped it since there was no interest, but I have an opportunity for a group buy of forged rods for a significantly better deal than LCE/Pauter. There are a couple manufacturers in China who have the correct process and drawings allegedly, but I would need at least 7 orders for the 5VZ.

i want to manual swap. just haven't been able to find a donor truck as 1st gens are quite rare where i live. I only bought the cxr manifolds snd and a turbo off them. everything else i pieced together myself. after 4 years now i can fully recommend the manifolds. only issue i had was with a flex joint that i easily replaced. turbo also shows no sign of wear. running 550cc injectors

Have you thought about running a Megasquirt ECU? You can use a PNP jumper harness and run it parallel with the stock ECU. It will give direct full control of the timing and fuel maps while leaving all other functions to the stock ECU. I did this on by turbo 3RZ I used to have and it worked awesome once I was able to get all the settings dialed in.

maybe at some point. I know they had an ecu pinned to directly plug into an early manual trans harness but looks like its discontinued. if i manual swap il be swapping the full harness. i had a methanol line leak and cause a fire damaging my harness. i used to have a urd patch harness but just wired directly into factory harness when i repaired it. Im happy with how it runs for now. currently upgrading the suspension. then i have some bodywork that needs to be done.

I really was dedicated. I was driving my 1992 dodge Cummins that I shortened. It’s really really really ruff to daily drive. I wanted my Toyota back. So I pushed it through. I freakin love driving my Toyota. It’s makes better noises than can ever be explained. I drive it to work every day now. I have taken it to 2 car shows around here. But nobody around here even knows what they are looking at.

When I first manual swapped mine. I found almost everything I needed for about 400$ Of of kSL classifieds. It’s easier than you think to swap.

A lot of it varies by location. The nearest R150F that was verified functional was in Oklahoma (guy was going to use it on his 2JZ FJ80) when I was looking for one in 2019. I crawled Craigslist and Facebook for 2-3 months and visited local yards. If an R150F goes up for sale in Texas chances are it's already on it's way to Mexico in an hour or two.

I actually have an extra one sitting. I told my younger brother if he will get a double cab I will manual swap it for him. I should keep my eyes open around here they are pretty easy to find.

I have 3 including one in a truck. I'm selling one to someone on TW in south TX. Other one was full of mud when I bought a ranch truck. Far left is an A340F with an A340E output shaft. Doubt the mud one is even worth sending to Marlin as a core. I'll stop spamming your build thread now lol.
