Alright, ladies and gents, boys and girls. The ol bitch (my 2000 extra cab 4X4 trd taco) is gettin some upgrades. Since I have last been here she has been gettin HUGE, I'll throw some pics up as well as some descriptions with everything that I messed up along the way. Regardless, here is the plan:
    1. 2JZ swap, 5 speed auto, etc.
    2. TT motorsports front LT kit, 37s
    3. Custom deaver rears (too dumb/poor/busy to do a 4 link)
    4. Lots of SPEED
This is ambitious, cuz yknow, I'm in COLLEGE still, but I'll be chipping away when and where I can. Leave thoughts below, and wait for some pics of the current build vs. what it was back when i fixed the frame.
    Thanks guys.

Here's the truck as she sits now, new front end, CVT RTT, 33 12.50 15 Cooper STT Pros on 15X10 Vision Steelies, straight pipe, 318,xxx miles. Stanced about 5 inches wider per side than factory. (Yes it rubs, no I don't care, yes the fenders are cut within an inch of their life)

TT long travel makes it 2WD, so I'll be pokin around at other options, just provides 18 inches of travel so it's an attractive choice.

Don’t. You’re in college. Save your money.

Unless you plan on embarrassing a Porsche or Vett on the freeway there’s no reason to stick 600hp into a these trucks.

But since your in college and won’t listen to the voice of reason... then before you do anything, and I mean this, you better know someone that will put in a full roll cage that is welded to the frame. Run a cross bar in the cab to mount the seats to make them independent of the cab. If you can’t do a roll cage, don’t do a 2j.

Yea man, roll cage is in the plans/works. First thing on the docket before the LT kit or the motor. This thread is more to build stoke/gain knowledge as I have 0 dollars. As well as this, I hope to not be pushing 600, more in the high 3s, depending on the setup when I buy/yank out the motor. Thanks for the advice regardless.
    Cheers.

Uhm just saying you can’t use terms like “long travel” or “2j” while claiming you don’t have any money. Also, you don’t need a 2jz to make 400hp. There are certainly many cheaper and easier options to hit that 350hp+ mark. Go find a 302 and make you life way easier.

CO does Emissions Testing. 2JZ swap is what I’d like to do eventually, but being in California I’d need to maintain the factory emissions equipment.

Luckily enough, I am still smack dab in the middle of a county that doesn't do emissions... yet. This project is WAYYY out there, so 2J could be a lofty goal anyways ;)
