Would this still work if I have a FJ Tcase in my taco?

 

Doesn't switching to an FJ transfer case get you into manually shifting between 2hi / 4hi / 4lo? If so then no this wouldn't work but I suspect you could accomplish 2lo by having the ADD unlocked and shifting into 4lo.

I haven't really looked at the swap in any detail so I could be making incorrect assumptions on some of that.

Seems to me this would be totally unnecessary if you have an FJ case. I can't think of any reason you would do both. Even if you keep the J-shift on the FJ case, you would still have to install a button that controls the ADD actuator. As OP stated, if you want 2lo, just shift the FJ t-case to 4lo and don't push the button to activate the ADD on the front diff.

I look at this mod as being the plug and play alternative for 2lo on a 2nd gen taco without swapping t-cases, cutting up your truck, and re-wiring your ADD.

 

I bought this mod months ago along with the switch. My application will have me frequently shutting the truck off and I don't want to have to repeat the initiation sequence every time I start the truck again.

I FINALLY got around to installing the module this weekend while I was out of town. Took me about fifteen minutes, mostly because I did it in between turning the steaks I had on the grill.

Took the truck out in the woods scouting some areas for elk and this was EXACTLY what I have been desperately wanting!!! Thank you @Up2NoGood !!!

I didn't have the push button switch with me and I was definitely convinced that I will be installing that shortly!

Just finished testing a batch of these and have 11 currently ready to go. I will be assembling harnesses and testing all of the modules that I have left, but after that I will no longer be building any more of these. If this is something you have been on the fence about getting I would recommend getting one while they are still available!
