    Quick question -

Does this box achieve 2Lo by not activating the ADD alone, or does it also alter the shifting in the transfer case?

In other words, when in 2Lo, does the front driveshaft turn from transfer case power?

I believe it just disables the ADD. My front driveshaft still turns.

It's doing a number of things at once but ultimately yes it locks out the ADD and convinces the 4wd ECU that everything is functioning as it should. I did make the module capable of shifting but only in certain circumstances. Ex. if you were already in 4hi and tried to activate the module then the module would automatically shift you into 2wd (where the ADD will not be locked), freeze out the ADD from locking and then shift you back into 4hi. It will do all of that without any operator interactions or the need to move your 4wd switch into the positions that would normally be required to perform such an action.

    Hope that all makes sense.

Another 3 packaged up and going out the door

PS if you have ordered a kit and aren't sure if I've shipped I keep a list updated on the 2nd post in this thread or you can always just shoot me a message to check in on things. In general I try to PM everyone with their tracking info but just in case I miss anyone...

I swear between the heated mirrors and 2lo my neighbors must think I'm crazy, constantly pulling the truck apart lol. For a while there I just drove around with part of the dash panels pulled off because I was probing and debugging on a daily basis. All part of the fun I suppose.

Ha exactly. Who knows what the neighbors thought but I’m sure they noticed me pulling the truck apart numerous times.

Can any one else who has installed this give some feedback? I'm thinking this will be a big help for backing my boat up hill without tearing up my lawn, but I'd like to see some more feedback before I pull the trigger.

One of the best modifications you can add to your truck. Easy to install. Using the lower gear ratio and still having ease of steering on pavement for maneuvering a heavy or large trailer is fantastic and easier on the truck. Price is very fair.

There are only a dozen or so people who have had this installed for a good amount of time (1 year +) but I'm sure as some of these new orders come in people will review. I've had one running for a long time and love it but my opinion is biased haha.

    Thanks Ed!

I haven't had to back up a trailer with this addition yet, but I drove down a steep trail that came directly to the edge of a lake. When I wanted to leave I flipped the 2lo on and without spitting rocks at myself or bouncing around like a wild buck; i backed up and out of that trail!
Edit: I could have used 4lo, but at the top of the off-shoot trail I had to make some tight turns in reverse to exit

Had mine for several months. Its great for backing a trailer. I manually did this same thing to all my wranglers for this very reason.

I use 2 low on my F350 for backing up trailers, real nice not to feather the clutch and be able to go slow

If I ever haul a big trailer again with my Taco, I will be getting one of these

I see most of you have manuals. Anybody with an auto care to chime in? I imagine it won’t be as big of a difference but still helpful.

I have the auto and really like it. Granted I'm not backing up a huge trailer but it's a short coupled little bastard that likes to turn on a dime so this really is sweet.

I finally got my module installed. Took a whole 7 minutes and works fantastic! Great product from a great seller. Highly recommend!

Finally got home from work. Installed, tested, works as advertised. I was worried that cutting the 4 low wire to enable traction control in 4low would make this not work but it still works.

These things should be flying off the shelf. Every manual transmission Tacoma owner should have this.
