    I searched, but no answer.

I was wondering if someone had figured out how to get 2lo in an 05+ taco? I would like to have it because the majority of the time I don't need 4wd offroad with my locker, but I like the gearing because it is easier on my clutch.

Put WARN manual hubs on the front. This way when you put it in 4LO (and 4HI for that matter) it will be in 2wd unless you get out and manually lock the hubs.

I used to wheel my CJ5 in 2LO+locked all the time.

I would rather not spend the money on manual hubs. I think there is wire mod out for the 1st gens, maybe there is for the 2nd gens as well?
