How much free movement does the lower control arm supposed to have when the strut is removed? I noticed that there is hardly and free play in up and down movement. I almost have to put my full 300lb weight to get the lower control arm to move down enough to get the strut out. is this normal? you would think it would be as free as the upper control arm. do I need to replace the bushings? I can't find a way to Grease it.

All the usual diesel truck mods- fuel system upgrade, programmer, CAI, intake manifold, j hooked waste gate
Mine were really tight like that too so I'd say that's normal. The bushings are rubber and probably shouldn't be greased.

If you loosened the LCA bolts(alignment cams) enough and still can't get the control arm to move then it's likely that the inner sleeves are rusted to the bolts. :( They should move mostly freely.

Solution: cut the sleeves/bolts out and replace entire bushing. Using Grease or Anti-Seize on the new bolts.

Thats the only way for me to move them is to loosen the bolts. I thought the lower arm would have as much free play as the upper arm.

That's why I replaced mine with a free flowing ES bushing. I don't like that binding design and really don't understand why it's used.

Well I'm looking into the same thing and got lucky googling. Check out Energysuspension.com. Part# 8.3128R fits our trucks. Crom recently installed some. Slightly off track, what circlip setting on the 6112's did you use to get about 3" lift? I have 6112's, and 650lb springs showing up in a week. Aiming at about 2" lift. Thanks

Not sure what your setup is.. but my setup with a heavy heavy arb bumper I have mine on the top most circling with 700lb springs. I have net little over 2"

Thanks. Mine is similar. I have an ARB bumper, winch with synthetic, sliders, but no skids. How are you liking the ride?

It's firm. But not jolting. I'm thinking on removing the front sway bar to see if it helps.
