I followed post #865. I wanted a smaller gap so I cut off 0.40 inches off the aluminum spacers.

For those of you with a sport and wanting to hang shackles, you can get a recovery Mount from BPF also. It goes on the passenger side but on the driver's side there is just a loop there. This is what I did very simple three-quarter inch cable clamp a little paint and a little bit of grinding. Remember this is only for looks but pretty easy and inexpensive. 20180301_185107.jpg 20180302_185131.jpg

OK, need some help. My sport is not lifted and I need to get about 2 more inches to get it to slide in. Don't have ramps but have stands but can't figure out where to put them after I jack the truck up. The manual just shows jacking the truck for tire change.

    Any help appreciated.

I have the second gen skid plate on my third and I removed the factory skid. The factory skid doesn’t do anything. Keep it on or take it off, it’s up to you. I decided to take the 10 pounds off.

Aiming for the end of the month.

Some 3rd gens got bumped due to people canceling their orders that were already packaged.

Install was a pain with this thing and I'll likely take it back off and cut down the spacers to lessen the gap.20180306_070834.jpg

Can you be more specific as to why it is such a pain? It definitely looks good!

Sounds like the powercoating is done on my skid! Hope to have it mounted up this weekend.

I figured out why everyone is saying it’s such a pain in the ass.

Putting this on over the factory skid has got to be about the most Forrest Gump thing you can do.
I spent 5 min staring at it, thinking How in the fuck is this going to work? 5 more trying to do it, after I said fuck it, I’ll try anyways. and 5 more min after I said fuck this shit and took it off.
Hardest part of whole thing was getting the skid out of all the cardboard and tape.
Pro tip for my man @Matt123..bruh, you don’t have to send black bolts, but you could have atleast made them 12mm like the rest of them.

Yeah, the packaging was intense. I didn't cut myself, but it took some work to unwrap everything.

Also having trouble getting that drivers side front bolt to line up. Going to try loosening the back bolts a little to wiggle it around. I half tightened them because the weight of the skid hanging from them seemed extreme

Also concerned about having to remove this thing every time I do an oil change..

Got mine done in a bright silver metallic, looks awesome. Pics coming soon.

After some wiggling to line up the drivers side front bolt, I decided to employ a dremel to enlarge the hole in the stock cover. Not sure why I felt as though it needed to stay on. It does seem to give some side protection from rocks and things that might get kicked up.

Finally got it mounted after enlarging the hole. Not looking forward to taking it off again though for oil changes. :frusty:

    But looks frickin great!

I'm very much okay with the gap as well.
