    2016 Tacoma, 6 speed manual.

Prior to TRD intake no issues.

Post install surging and stumble at low rpm in 2nd and 3rd gear around 1/2 throttle.

Checked all connections, looks tight and secure. No CEL.

    Issue is intermittent.

Any ideas? This small amount of additional air flow seems to be an issue. This intake lid also has the Charcoal filter removed.

Considering disconnecting the battery to reset the ECM ..

It’s been 3 days and 40 miles of city driving.

Would a long highway drive help to calibrate it. Never seen this happen before

Was the intake brand new? Did you oil it yourself? Typically if the MAF is dirty or has oil on it it can cause it to run poorly. Always clean your MAF cleaner when installing or after cleaning the reusable filter.

Try the cleaner, you’ll be surprised. That’s what happened when I cleaned and reinstalled mine

Hmm. I literally just swapped the TRD airbox lid along with the intake tube. No TRD filter, or air accelerator tube (This was at the dealer, on their display wall that they were updating, I got it for $120 but now I might return it).

When you installed it, did you accidentally touch the actual sensor on the MAF with your fingers?

    You did something...
Changing out a paper filter for another paper filter won't cause you symptoms. Hell, you can leave the element out and it won't cause those symptoms. Undo everything you did. Driving it more won't help.

The TRD intake has the Charcoal filter removed it the only difference I can really see with this intake over stock which is where I think the issue is coming from

You likely have a leak in the plumbing which is causing the engine to stumble on a lean condition. Go back over all the tube connections and make sure they are fully inserted and the clamps are tight. The issue would be between the engine and MAF.
