    I'm inclined to agree....

Did some upgunning on my CB. New location for antenna. SWR now .9/1.0, much cleaner RX/TX, and radio is now 60 watt instead of 28.

I'm cool with this. Channel 1 it is! Fairly certain we changed channels last year anyway, and when Brandon and I scouted. Same skip and 1000 watt screamers as anywhere else in the woods

Funny that I don't hear those jackasses in town though.

After the antenna move, which ALSO provided better grounding for mount, and upping wattage from an already jacked up 28 to 60 watts, my range quadrupled. Mostly because of antenna....Get them away from the cab! Still 4' Firestik. Not doing ham. No urge to spend more on radio I MAY use MAYBE 3 or 4 days a year tops. CB works well for every day use. I get more use out of it on highways to/from work.

I still need to go hambone. Will likely order one and it show up while in the woods with internet strangers.
Good thing I can run home and get it and be back at the park in an hour :brianr:

Yep. I'm aware. Just not spending more money on something just so I can hear Jibbs give bad directions or you trying to hook up with Nick's mom.

I did all the antenna work. "Chet" at Bloomfield Electronics did the radio.

Cobra XLT29. Part #'s escape me at the moment. It rocks.

Yesterday, as I was on my way home, I was talking with a truck driver that was leaving Memphis Indiana. I was south of Louisville. That's over 40 miles. He was pushing 200 watts through a General Lee.

We have a Johnson FM "businessmans special" system here at work. It's older now, but still as good as it gets. Not sure my jacked up CB isn't just as clear. Just not buying MORE radio stuff....

Leaving Mt. Washington sometime between Wed afternoon and Saturday morning....most likely early in the morning on the day I drive up. All depends on when I get back from Michigan and that is contingent on how the fish are biting. Love me some smallmouth fishing!

Any idea when you might want to drive up/ride up? I might be able to adjust schedule. Just staying open with plans until there's a reason to do otherwise.
