On that note for Saturday (Signal Hill), is everyone doing the easy way up or the hard way? TTORA mentions a hard way and easy way, but only lists directions for the easy way. And it is easy. I remember going up there in the '80s in a GMC Jimmy (the little one) that was all stock. In which case, Steven, you should have no problems on this day. I might join up on Saturday for the day too. I'll see as things get closer.

Since the link didn't mention it, which way is the hard way? Is it even a road? Maybe everyone should split into two groups, one going the easy way and one going the hard way, and race to the top.:burnrubber:

    From NorcalTTORA

This is from the eagle lakes staging area..........

There is a staging area with restrooms right near the beginning of the trail. The trailhead facing the restrooms is the hard way up Signal Peak

I love that the easy way up looks so much harder then other way. The hard way starts all flat and looks like a fire road and the easy way starts off all rocky and shit. I think a Prerunner could make it further on the hard road if your measuring the distance before before the truck gets stuck.

Dang, I sure wish I had skids and sliders. But noooo...I needed (and still do:() the LB for hauling stuff! Dang, the hard way looks fun. Maybe in another life...or maybe someday after my daughter is older and moves out we'll get a TRD OR Access Cab since I won't need a DC then. Now I'm already dreaming of all the room I'll have in the garage with the shorter truck.

I'm gonna say no. You may be able to simply cruise the fire roads, but on the actual trails you gotta ride with someone.
