Hey TW, so right now I have the 1 battery like everyone else. My question is that should I possibly invest in a 2nd one to mount somewhere else on the truck? Here's some specs:

    Things Wired to 1st battery:
    Sound system
    Led interior lights
    Tailgate light bar
    Courtesy lights

Things I plan on getting in the future:
    50" light bar
    (2) 20" Light bars
    10" light bar
    Seat heaters
    Train horn

Let me know what tall think!

Howdy! If you don't want to go with a second battery, you could always get one of these http://www.pelfreybilt.com/#!2005battery-cage/c50f and run a Group 31M battery. If you wait for a sale at Sears and use some of the online coupon codes, you can get the Die Hard Platinum 31M much cheaper than the advertised price. During the sale, I got $80 off when I purchased it.

3 inch lift with Toytec Boss and All Pro UCA's up front. AP expedition leafs with Bilstien 5100 shocks in the back. 255/85/16 Cooper S/T Max tires. All Pro skids, rear bumper and sliders, Hidden winch mount with XRC 8000 winch. Dual Optima batteries with IBS combiner/isolator and solar. CMC. Auto sliding rear window mod, hidden CB, CVJ axles and plenty of other little mods.
Plenty of options out there. I used dual optimal with an IBS combiner/isolator. Rigged the second fuse block off of the accessory battery

Isolated dual batteries are great for high parasitic loads and the ability to restart your engine. The key is keeping them fully recharged when the electrical load exceeds your charging system power output.

Add up all your loads figure how many will be on at any given time find out how many amps your alternator will make then decide it does not sound to me like you need two batteries unless you have a mega sound system and no LED aux light light bars.

My simple-minded thinking is that everything not required to run the truck - extra lights, VHF radio, charger panels, SatCom, compressor, winch, 110c vibrator, refer, electric blanket, etc. - should be run off a secondary battery, with an intelligent combiner. That way, your engine battery cannot be compromised by add-on stuff. The secondary battery will be charged, as needed, and disconnected otherwise. Why be in a position of not being able to start the engine because you've been playing with accessories?? Look at BlueSeas web site for guidance.

    sneaking that in there eh?!?!

Haha, I am actually going to get a jumper pack from harbor freight. I have a coupon for this one for 40 bucks As far as a second battery, if i were to do it, it would be completely separate when the truck was off, Id likely wire it off of the 12v line that feeds the 7 pin trailer connector that has a relay that disconnects the trailer battery from the truck when the truck is off.

A common old continuous duty solenoid is pretty common practice in motor homes it connects both with the engine on and disconnects the other with the key off they are around 20 bucks.
