I have been thinking about adding a second fuel tank to my 06 DC 4x4. Do you think this can be done? Would I be able to fill from the existing fill neck by connect the two tanks with 1/2 hose and tees..

Just an idea, let me know your thoughts.

It can be done, probably not with the same filler neck though. Some expedition vehicles have a second tank where the spare tire would normally mount under the truck. The simpliest is what whippersnapper mentioned, the bed-mounted tanks. They're popular on construction sites and farms.

I'm working with Transfer Flow in Chico, CA to design and build a custom tool box with 15-20 gallon fuel tank in the base of the tool box. Check the 2nd Gen area for more info.

    Thanks!! DD

I'm taking mine to a muffler shop to see about possibly customizing the exhaust system to allow for a second tank to be installed opposit the oem tank. Not sure if it can be done but I think this is the best possible installation location. If not then I will probably settle for a tank where my spare is now.

I'm back on my mission to get Transfer Flow to build a custom tool box with fuel tank in the base of the tool box. If you're reading this, search the "2nd Gen" section to find more details about this project.

I contacted this company today, and they claim this tank will work in Tacoma trucks. Price on 1 tank shipped is about 1700 USD, price on 2 tanks shipped is 2600 USD. Tank itself is 900 or so bucks, shipping is 600 bucks from Australia to your nearest Seaport. They can fit 2 tanks in 1 box, so if 2 people ordered, the shipping costs would be cut in half. That also doesn't count taxes and fee's assessed at the port.

I contacted them about a group buy as well, I am waiting to hear back about pricing and availability.

I am considering one even if a group buy is not possible, would anyone be interested in splitting the shipping?
