Hey everyone! First post on here and I have already used alot of info on here to start upgrading the tacoma, and I didn't see this info shown anywhere so I figured I'd share what I found out.

I was working on swapping most of the awful silver dimple interior on my 2011 tacoma and getting the newer ac controls and clock put in. I obtained a clock from a 2012 radio cluster I bought off ebay and swapped in the new clock to the truck. I noticed that after it was in the airbag light had gone off in the truck and after a couple cycles, remained on. So i decided to do some digging into my old clock for some answers. I noticed that after opening this up it's as easy as swapping around a couple pieces and was able to keep the look I wanted and maintain the safety portion of my truck without cutting, soldering or other altering pieces.

    1. I started by opening my old unit, have to pry on the sides to pop the center portion out of the clock.

This is the opposite side of that top tan piece that you see in the first picture

Now please keep in mind I am no professional, I am but a mere weekend wrencher and making any modifications to your rig you are doing at your own risk and discretion. But this main portion is where the main airbag system and power for the clock run through, and the power supply the runs to the clock happens to be the same connector

So, thinking simple I wondered if just changing the oem backing from the original clock in my truck into the new one would still work to eliminate the airbag light and power the new clock.

The power connector is shown on the clock in the picture below...

But literally it's as easy as duplicating this with the other clock, lining up that main back portion into the new clock, snapping it back together, and bam. I kept the black hazard button and the white LED clock I wanted and losing the airbag light on the dash. The new clock I had gotten had some scratches on the face plate from the junkyard so I ended up swapping the clock and push button from one unit to the other as well without having to modify any pieces. But I figured I'd share this with you guys incase you were in the same boat I was looking for answers. Happy modifying!:cheers:
