This is my first post, but I have been following for quite some time. Tons of good info on here, but for the life of me I cannot get a definitive answer on the following:

I know that for Gen 3s, transmission and transfer case skids are not compatible between V6 and I4 due to relocation of a cross-member used for mounting. I have not been able to find if this is the same for Gen 2s. I know that the V6 engine AND I4 automatic transmissions are different between the two generations, so I don't know if this change is the reason for movement of the cross-member just post 2016s, or if this applies for 2005-2015s as well.

I have the horribly geared 4AT 4 cylinder and I love it (I have another go-fast car and I don't tow), but it seems like most commercial skid options are v6 exclusive. Am I gonna have to make my own skids? I hear engine skids will fit, regardless.

Any info from someone who has done this, or link to a thread where this is already addressed would be appreciated!! Thanks

Update: I heard back from RCI regarding their transmission and TC skid plates, and they also confirmed that they dont fit Gen 3 I4 models, but said they did not have a Gen 2 I4 available to test fit on in the shop. So it confirmed what I did know, but did not really help answer about Gen 2s. Sounds like the safe bet is probably going to be making my own, unless someone else chimes in.
