i shaved off part of the front bar mount for the lower fender in the rear. Also bent the back mount out of the way and re secured the fenders

Taped off the whole area with Blue tape. Then cut a stick in half leaving a notch at one end. Then a circle at the opposite end centered at 2.25". used a sharpie in the hole and used the notch to follow the fender lip. made short work of tracing.

I'm sure it's been asked before in these 200+ pages but how horrible is driving a 4.0 6speed with 35s and factory gears. I'm thinking about picking up a set but it may be next year before I have the extra cash for gears a front locker.

Mojo (My50cal) has been on 315's with stock gears for a while. He says it's a dog. I'm pretty sure he's manual trans too.
I would imagine you'd be ok for a while. I would not do it with a auto trans - you will cook the trans. That's how I came to purchase my 35's - from a fellow member that ran 35's with no re gear on an auto trans.

I ran my 35s for a full year before getting gears, my auto tranny shifts perfect still. Truck could spin the tires in second no problem as well.

It sucks but still drivable. I am in the same situation with not being able to get gears right away. I feel like I lost about 5-10% of the power going from 265/75/16's to 35/12.5/17's. In the mountains I am running 4th gear trying to stay around 65 mph but on long flat roads the gearing actually is kind of nice as long as there is not a strong head wind. Wheeling is still possible but again very noticeable. Not snappy in 4 low like before.

But that's just my opinion. I would like to hear others who haven't changed gears yet either. And problems long term of not changing right away?

I've got almost 140,000 on my 2005. It has not been "snappy" for years. I Drive it normal. Wheeled a couple times. No huge ussue.

If it wasn't for this nonsense happening with my tire getting slashed and my fishing gear being stolen. I'd have my gears, Homers welder, and my snorkel.

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.

I have the exact setup you describe and It sucks. It sucks on the street and it sucks offroad. I am putting in 4.56s as soon as I get home.

I want to use 4lo on the street starting from a light...god forbid up hill!

I just put on 33" (285/75/17) and I can already tell a difference how it lags on an auto trans. I could only imagime how bad it is on the trans with 35's. If you want to have a dependable truck I would definitely gear it

Lol seriously I daily drove my auto trans dclb with 35's for a whole year, and went wheeling at least 3 to 4 times a month. My trans is still fine.

I dd manual trans with 35s and stock gears still. Doesn't have the acceleration or power on hills, but it isn't crippling. Can still get her moving down the freeway and make climbs at a respectable speed
