    To me the 6 spd manual w/ 4.56 gears on 35x12.5x17 drives damn close to stock.
    I'm waiting to see how Anthony fares with 36's - if it works out well I may just go to a 36x13.5x17 interco.

    I drove a 3km 8 percent grade 3 times a week for most of the years as well, 4th gear at 80km/h no problem (speed limit is 70)

    So 5th and 6th become useless? Right now I'm on 255/85/16s. I don't even use 3rd or 5th. I shift 1,2,4,6 99% of the time. I live at sea level where its flat. Only time I really use all my gears is when I head to the mountains to wheel. Even then I don't think I get much over 4000ft elevation here in the southeast.

    Im sure its true since the 4.0 has good power if you dont regear but you still lose tourqe because of the wheel size to gear ratio. Im aure if anyone hase upgraded their truck after driving on 35s for a while and regeared they noticed a huge difference. I love the feel of huge tires with the proper gearing. Looking forward on upgrading my truck but im still waiting to redo my rear suspension before doing bigger

    How do you like the 4.88's?

    I'm planning on 4.56s because the way I understand it is they should have better fuel economy than 4.88s but less torque.....?

    I need to look for some of that high density foam that was used in the fender flairs as added support. I leaned against my bedside as I normally do when fueling up. Woah, that was a flimsy surprise. I heard a POP form a clip and felt it flex an un expected amount;

    I only went 4.88 cause I was planning to run 37's but I have changed my mind and will stick to a 35 till I sas the truck. if I were to do it over again I would have gone 4.56. but besides that the 4.88's are awesome for city and wheeling, I suffer some on the highway though since at 60mph my rpms are at 2300ish. I dont do that much highway though so I dont really mind.

    Is it really that bad with 35's and 3.73's, it's going to be 2-3 months before I can regear.

    4.56 or 4.88 for best all around driving and fuel economy? I don't do a lot of wheeling, maybe once every 2 weeks, 1/2 my driving is highway.

    And for lockers, is it worth it to get an Arb in the front? Is turning greatly effected off road with the front locker?

    Go with 4.56, anything more is too much for highway driving. ARB up front is definitely worth it and makes a big difference.

    When I got gears for my truck I only wanted a rear arb. Then I saw the price for a new open carrier for the front to fit the 4.88's, it was 2 thirds the cost of an arb locker. That changed my mind pretty quick on whether or not to get a front locker. Also I never use the lockers until I really need them and I shut them off after I pass that obstacle.
