    E, I have 315/75/16 duratracs. Only have about 2,000 miles on them and really like them a lot. Can't wait for it to warm up a little so I can finish clearancing my fenders and wheel it on 35's instead of the street queen my truck has been for the last month.

    I was under the impression the load rang E was way to overkill for the tacoma even fully armored and loaded. I was thinking D would be best but I need more information. Why'd you guys with E go with them and same with D?

    allpro long travel, shackle flip with ome dakars, cruisin offroad bumpers and sliders, 4.88 gears with arb's front and rear, budbuilt skids.
    Thicker stronger sidewall, if your going to wheel then go with E. If you like flat tires on the trail go with D

    I was leaning towards Goodyear MTRs but i can't seem to find them in load range E.. Does that mean that all you guys running them are running D?

    Icon MT suspension, Pelfreybuilt front bumper, Relentless skids, Avid sliders, Avid custom rack. Pelfreybilt HC Rear bumper.
    Interesting, I had 265/75R16 Duratrac's and had good luck with them also, but want to go taller. Was thinking about Interco (Super Swamper) SSR tires in 35 x 10.50 R16 but they are stupid expensive at close to $400 each. So looks like I will have to go 315/75 R16 and run them on a 8" wide wheel if I can. I have a set of 8x16 Method Doublestandard wheels. Is an 8" rim width okay for a 315/75 tire?

    Goodyear doesn't make a 35 or 315 in 16 or 17" with a Load E. My MTR's are D and have been more than fine for my driving...but I don't crawl over rock piles.

    Yeah I pop a bead every other trip I take and I'm running 16x8. I also air down to 10 psi. Haha
    Km2s only come in range D in 315/75/16 as well. I do rock crawl over piles of rock, both smooth mountain rock and sharp river bed rock and have yet to get a flat. The range D tires allow the tire to fold up easier and conform to rocks and trees and stuff. Kinda like this ......

    Yeah I hear ya, mine is just a go fast desert truck. Lots of sharp rock, shell and desert ninjas looking to slice your sidewall. Plenty of guys use these in D load and have been quite happy.

    Thank you! Haha people get so twisted up and opinionated about load range E being "stronger" off road. You don't want such a heavy steel filled tire, you want something that will flex over stuff. Even if you're a mall crawler you don't want load range E because of their weight!

    100% load range D for wheeling, even with "heavy" trucks.

    as far as popping beads goes, Toyota factory alloys have a much better lip contour (for holding a bead) than just about any aftermarket wheel, so getting a wider aftermarket wheel may actually hurt your chances off road.

    315/70/17, 12 psi, trd sport alloys (7.5'' wide wheel). never popped a bead. I've also never wheeled with someone else who's running factory alloys, who's popped a bead, even lower pressures than I run.
