Mine are pretty chunked up in the tread and sidewalls have several half moon cuts in them. Interested in the Hankooks that Colin is running when I jump to 35's.

I'll stick with my Micky Thompsons, was never a fan of the KM2's anyway.

Do eeet :) i bought them because of their durability. the fact that i have yet to see a surface on which traction is lacking is just plus, but i wasn't expecting that when i bought them. when i was crawling over those cars last month, i spun them on edges of sheet metal and broken glass, and you'd never know by looking.

seen too many sliced up KM2s and Kevlars. which is unfortunate, because i like the tread design of the kevlars.

Iroks will chunk worse than the KM2's. I went with a Jeep that had some new ones, and they were chunked horribly by time we got to the top of a rocky climb. He did quite a bit of spinning, but it was only for a little bit. Tires looked 5 years old by time he got up to the top.

Although the damage has been done, I think you might benefit from heat cycling your next set. Google heat cycling, I used to do it to my tires back in my racing days and I still do it even to new mud tires including km2s. I've never had a km2 chunk like that! Basically put your new tires on, take them around a few corners, brake hard from 70 down to 20 a few times and get them hot, then take them off and throw them in the shop for a week. The polymers in the rubber break their bonds up a bit, then over the settling time they re-form their bonds with more strength. Or something like that  I think a lot of people heat cycle their tires inadvertently anyway especially if they have a dedicated off road truck that sits in the garage most of the time.

They almost look defective to be falling apart like that after a single trip. I put 20,000 miles on my last set, at least 50% off road, and then sold them to some guy for $600 (for 5) with 40-60% tread.

    Yup, I'd be pissed!

Cool, thanks. Swampers historically run on the soft side, thought maybe some of the newer styles might be different.

Wish manufacturers would list the durometer of the tires, would help pick based on terrains we spend most time on.

The claws are badass tires, only complaint I had was life, seems all the good tires are only good for about 20k though. I don't like to run em way down tho, 2/3rd shot mud tires suck and let's face it, brand new tars are the best.
