    Welcome to the club!

    It's crazy to think there are only 33 (including the new guy Hawksdenn2) people in this running 35s with 3 inch lift. I am sure there are more that just aren't on the OP, but I haven't seen many. Especially considering how many people are on this forum!

    There may be more but I doubt if it's many. I'm not surprised at the count - there's a lot that goes into doing this properly & not everyone is keen on hacking up an expensive vehicle.

    Yeah that is true. I mean cutting the body is kind of a permanent modification. I guess I don't really think of how much modification it took now that it's over.

    All I know is I am glad I made the Jump!

    Definitely not something someone should do if they are sitting on the fence about it IMO. Around here these trucks are worth $42K OTD new, that may be why I've never seen another 2nd gen sitting on 35's with 3" of lift. :confused:

    That being said, I'm very happy I went through the work. :D

    I agree once you take the leap and spend a full day taking your time and doing it right, it isn't that bad with the proper tools

    Like you I found the leather seats are very important part of this mod as well. So much easier to just wipe up the passenger seat with leather. Bitches be gettin humid with dem 35's

    Want to hear(read) something funny?

    The entire reason I got started modifying my truck was after I rear ended someone. I needed a new bumper (Thanks Socalduckslayer) and didn't want to go back to stock. Then I Picked up some sliders through a group buy because I thought they were "cool". I never really even looked into modifying my truck before that.

    From there I got introduced to a few people that wheeled. Went for the first time and was hooked. Hard! That first trip almost scared me away. The first trail dropped in and I was like whoa I thought we were coming to drive on muddy roads? Within 5 min into the first trail I see this sign pointing the way we are headed that says "Most Difficult" with a symbol that looked like steep whoops.... Well yep the sign was right. I got high centered on the first hill. This thing was so steep the FJ's with a 3" lift on 285s were scraping sliders.

    After I found out my sliders were not just for show and that sometimes momentum is your friend. I hit each one after like a champ.

    Then in the SUV area of the part we all wandered off and did our own thing. Boy was that a mistake. I creeped into a puddle that was more like a pond. :facepalm:

    Despite all of that I still had a blast! I have been obsessed ever since.

    Ended up getting some skids (Thanks Socalduckslayer again) and even headed all the way to Moab from Chicago. (Second wheeling trip ever)

    This is not a great video, but it is my first time wheeling/first trail I ever went down. In the first 20 sec you can here me say "Holy $h!t". At 1:20 you can see the type of hill I got high centered on.

    Speaking of gears I do a lot of highway driving and wheeling is just trail riding. Not extreme rock crawling. What gears should I be looking at?

    Most autos go with 4.88. 4.56 for manuals. This will put your RPMs back around stock. I have a pic somewhere, let me find it.
