3" lift EIBACH coils w/ 5100's front, OME/ Dakar leaf springs w/ toytec adjustable shackles at 1.5" and 5125's out back. 33x10.5x15 KM2's Relentless DIY steel bumper.
I have a 2001 DCSB PreRunner with a 3" lift on front suspension and 2.25" on rear suspension.

I parked next to a 2nd gen single cab short bed today. When I got out to compare the two I noticed he sat at least 1.5" higher than I do, probably closer to 2". So I checked his suspension and he's running what looks like stock coils with 2" top plate spacers in front. On the rear he looked to have around a 1" block under stock leaf springs.

So I can't figure how his sat so much higher than mine? Do 2nd gen single/ regular cabs sit higher than 1st gen double cabs? I'm not talking about ground clearance. I'm talking about just looks and height from ground to fender, or ground to top of hood.

I should have taken a pic of the 2 trucks side by side but I was too busy inspecting his. I'll try and take a pic on Thursday.

One thing I forgot to check was tires. I didn't notice his tires being that much bigger than my stock 31's but I really didn't look. Once I get my 33's I guess that will add about 1" to my overall height. But just curious as to why his truck was that much taller than mine

Anyone know the answer to this? Or know middle of hub to fender measurements? It makes me wonder if my suspension is already sagging, wayyy to much after 3 months of having it on.

That makes me feel better knowing, stock for stock 2nd gens sit a little higher. Here is a pic of my truck on left compared to a stock (right) that looks just like mine.

The way mine sits higher than the stock 1st gen is the way that slightly lifted 2nd gen looked next to mine. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1373400241.084441.jpg

Seems right to me, my cousin had an 09 with just 5100's set at first setting to level it out and both the top of bed and hood were just about even with mine. but if you looked at the rear bumpers its quite a difference, since the first gen bed sides aren't as tall as the second gens.

Second gens are just a bit bigger truck thats all

The cab is bigger and the body itself is just taller, so ya makes sense. I don't think the actual ground clearance is any different. Only thin different in groun clearance would be from the sagging 1st gen suspension

ground clearance is almost identical but the 2nd gens have taller cab dimensions so it creates the illusion that there's less ground clearance. yes 2nd gens are bigger in almost every aspect
