For starters, I am new to Tacoma world. First-time poster.

I've spent hours and hours learning about lift kits and suspension in general. The goal is to achieve 3 inches of lift in the front and probably about 2 inches in rear. I think I'll go with 5100's all around and 2 inch AAL for the back. I'm planning to get a .25 spacer to correct my Taco-lean. Also, LR UCA's are in the mail.

    I have two main questions:
    1. How important is it to install 3-degree shims with the AAL?
    2. Which coils will give me the 3 inches of lift without preloading?
I've read a lot about the OME 887 with 5100's, but most guys that install those have DC's. Since I have an AC, should I be looking at the 885 or 884? Toyotec says that either of those would require top plate spacers.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Call Headstrong Off-road, they will give you solid answers to all your questions. Their prices are as good or better than anyone on suspension parts.

I'd wait to install shims but I'd order them as a precaution.

885s with a top plate spacer or 887s.

    Thanks for the help guys.

I think I'm going to go with the 887s. What is the advantage to ordering the shims?

Having them if you need them and not paying extra shipping.
