Got a 4.0 taco with 6-speed with the notorious TOB chirp. Decided to swap the full clutch assembly like most do and decided to go with LUK kit off of rock auto.

Dropped the trans and install went smoothly but when it was all said and done car wouldn’t go into gear when running. Bled the clutch adjusted the clutch pedal and nothing. Started to think the disc was on backwards. Not the case. Everything was on properly.

After further investigation the new TOB is an 1/8th of an each shorter than the original one on the truck. The diaphragm of the new pressure plate also was a lot wider so my guess was that there isn’t enough travel for the bearing to fully disengage the clutch.

Saw that AISIN used to be a supplier for Toyota decided to get one of there kits. Looks identical to OEM but now that it’s in hand the TOB is once again smaller that OEM.

Gonna have fun testing it out again right now. But was wondering if I’m missing something or if anyone was having similar issues?
