2nd Gen. aftermarket rear bumper on 3rd. Gen.

I'm a longtime lurker who had a 2013 Sport DCLB (FTMFW) 4x4 but sold it last year. I just put a deposit on a 2016 SR AC 2.7 Auto 4x4 and finally have a question to ask that I could not find in searching.

I have a Fab Fours rear bumper for the 2nd. Gen. Tacoma and am wondering if it will fit the 2016 SR I am getting? The Sport had the tow package but the 2016 does not. I don't think it will fit, seeing how they came out with a new bumper, but I thought I'd ask those more knowledgeable.

I saw one on a 2nd gen yesterday - I have one for the 3rd jen - they look a lot different. That said cant say for sure. There are 3 bolts on the frame on each side to attach the FabFour bumper too. I'd email FabFour and ask them. Those 3 bolts would have to line up perfectly on each side for it to fit.

Why don't you just buy a new one for the new truck?

 

I was hoping to use this one, since I already have it. I was searching threads about parts compatibility, new frames, etc. but didn't see anything specifically about rear bumpers. It looks like my best option is to get a new one though.
