OME 885's, 90000 and n182 shocks, CB drop, 295/75/16 Hankook Dynapro MT RT03's, 16"x8" Pro Comp 7089 wheels, Avid Off Road Light Bar, Magnaflow 12226-14'' Muffler dumped after axle, color matched grille, Team Realtree camo seat and steering wheel covers, Husky floor liners, towing hitch, bed extender, Tacoma bed mat, all black emblems, black sockmonkey decals, bedlined rear bumper.
Sometime within the near future I'm going to be buying the ARB Deluxe Bumper. Right now I have 885 coils and the OME shocks. I'm also running 295/75/16 Hankook Dynapros (33.6 x 11.6). I don't plan on buying and putting on a winch right when I get it; just the bumper.

What I'm wondering is if I can keep my 885 coils for now, with the ARB bumper? If/when I decide to get the winch, I know I will have to move up to the 886 coils to maintain my lift. But does anybody know if I will not sag much and still be able to clear my tires with the 885s and just the bumper itself?

I am not sure what the actual weight of the bumper itself is, I've looked a few places and can't find it. That's one reason I'm not sure about this. I still have the 1/4'' top plate spacers that I never used that came with the OME lift kit.

idk man the 295's will be a tight fit with the 885's, with 886's, and 285's ARB and a winch I'd say i have enough room, but idk about 885's with 295's

Yeah, I know if I ever get the winch I will need the 886's for sure. But you think with just the bumper it wouldn't clear?

only one way to tell. put the bumper on, if needed add top plate spacers. If tires don't clear the bumper you can always trim some off. It will be close though.

not trying to be a smart ass about previous post, but I have found that even if it worked for someone else it may not work for you and vice versa.

I understand. Just trying to find out from other people's experience too. I see that you have 886's, the bumper, and a winch, so yours is a little different.

Yeah, I did eventually find a weight on another site. But it was for the ARB 2nd gen without foglights; it said 185lbs. That's kind of weird that there is a 25lb difference between the two if the only difference is fog lights; and assuming the weights are correct. I also found another weight for the ARB bumper, it was for the older gen tacoma, but it was 78 lbs. I know that's not for the same truck, but you'd think the weights would be similar.

Another added question: does the suspension ride better after you get new ucas? I read somewhere on here that your suspension can "top out" because of the stress of the stock ucas, especially like on speed bumps, drop offs, bumpy roads/driveways. Is it basically because even though my shocks and coils have the potential to take the bump/drop better, my stock ucas are limiting the suspension's ability to take the hit?

Well mine does just that (getting rough on bumps, drops) and I never replaced ucas. But I do have the OME shocks all around and 885 coils, which people claim ride pretty smooth, but mine can be almost harsh at times on these type of things. Is my suspension "topping out" because of my stock ucas? Will Light Racing ucas, help me gain the smoother ride that I'm supposed to get with this lift? If so, maybe this is something that I might as well go ahead and replace when add the other things to the truck (bumper, 886 coils, winch, etc)

I've seen the weight stated as anywhere from ~100 lbs to ~120lbs up to 150lbs. for the 2nd gen bumper. I don't know the difference in 1st gen to 2nd gen, but double the weight from one to the other?
I sent ARB an email this morning asking the weight of the 05-11 front and here is the reply:

so, maybe the 150lbs+ is with a winch? i dunno.

A Arb bumper is not 90#

295's will hit the wings on the bumper and you will need to cut the bumper down or it will slice the tires.

If you are putting in ome lift, do your uca. Light racing ones are suffice.
I have 285 with a top plate spacer on top of 886 coils still gets close at full flex.

That sucks that there aren't consistent numbers on the weight. But 90lbs does seem a little light.

Are you sure? I've saw a few members on here with the ARB bumper and even 35's, and they didn't cut up the ARB bumper. Maxamillion2345 and theduck911 for example, and their tires are probably an inch larger in diameter and near an inch in width wider than mine.

yea, i dunno which to believe. i'd think 120+ easy including the brackets and hardware, no winch.

soon as they start selling the 2012, i'll get it and weigh it before installation.

You are asking questions that are related to a truck of which are all different, so no I am not sure and no one else can be either.

If you ask me Ill tell you you need to cut it down to be safe. My friend I wheel with had 305's and it needed to be cut. I also know someone with 285's that needed to cut it. I also know someone who doesn't wheel and has 295's and it doesn't rub.

    Does that help?

i do believe that max cut his bumper, could be wrong though. If you plan on doing the bumper and winch I would spend the money on the new coils. Azogg has the setup you are talking about with 885's. Last time I checked his build though he had 265/75's. You could always pm him.

I know that everything is situational and different. Pretty much everyone said it would be impossible to run 295's and even turn the steering wheel. I tried anyways and only had to do the typical inner fender trimming like most people would with 285's. No cab mount chop and pretty much the only time I even barely rub the plastic fender is at fully locked turns in reverse going up/down some kind of incline. That being said, I don't do any extreme offroading. But I think the bumper will be good added protection from the tons of deer down here and with the winch eventually, it will be great to fall back on if I ever get in a bad situation.

I'm just sort of trying to get a consensus on how it worked out for other people in the past to get a feeling on where I stand. You said that someone you know had 295's, doesn't offroad, and didn't have to trim. Are you talking about an aftermarket front bumper? I'm assuming so, and since I don't offroad like crazy, I'm going to lean toward not trimming the bumper at first. Then of course if it does rub, I will have to. Thanks for the help.

I was under the assumption that he didn't. I looked over his build thread and never saw him mention it. But I've been wrong before and could be again now.

Probably right about the coils though. I think I will just save up again and do it all at once while I have it tore apart. UCA's, 886 coils, bumper, and might as well do the winch then too if I decide to do it. Instead of waiting to do it later and having to struggle with getting it in with the bumper already on.
