2nd gen best and worst years?

I like my '13. It has LED tail lights stock, and the compass/thermometer on the rearview. I noticed the 14's didn't have that, not sure about the '15's. I also like the buttons on the steering wheel better on mine than the 14+. 65,000 miles, all my own maintenance, not one issue.

These are just minor things, it's the same power-plant, there is no "bad" year tbh.

I bought a new 2015 in August. One of the last of the 2015s. Here is what people aren't considering. I wanted to buy used, but I'd find a let's say 2012 for $25k... and it has 80,000 miles on it. But... but.... for $6.5k more, I could get brand new! With full warranty! I saw this over and over... Or I'd see a 2013 with 38k miles... and not kidding almost the same price as my brand new truck. It drove me crazy. Tacoma's have one of the highest resale values of any vehicle. Which is great if you buy on and sell it 3 or 5 years later. But if you are buying one.... unless you go way back 8-ish years, or well over 100k miles, you might as well buy new. That is where I wound up.

Sorry so long winded. But my point is, it isn't just is a 2013 better than a 2011. You need to consider "what is my best value." And for me, because of the incredibly high resale value of slightly to even moderately used trucks, 2015 was the correct choice. Plus, everyone knows 2015 is the best

Not to mention financing rates are usually quite a bit lower when buying new

Probably the 3 best/most common options:

1. OEM Bed Mat - Best look with "Tacoma" text in my opinion. Tough as nails. Reinforced with fibers (I cut my bed mat to fit some tie downs and noticed this). I bought mine for roughly $90 shipped.

2. Horse stall mat from a place like Tractor Supply or ACE hardware, cut to size: REALLY tough as nails (at least an inch thick or so). Relatively cheap, heavy as hell though, and don't fit the bed as perfectly as the OEM mat.

3. 3rd party mat like DeeZee or something. You may have to cut some of these to fit if you have a short bed. On the thinner side. Most people still say they hold up good. Not that much cheaper than the OEM mat...I currently see them around the $80 mark.

I'd vote OEM mat. That and my OEM cargo net have been great investments and quality items.

I bought some gray speaker cabinet carpet on Amazon, 15x4, I think, layed it out in my bed, cut it with a utility knife, stuck some Velcro on the bed, done. 30 bucks. And I have enough for another one, since I already have the template when this one wears out. No more slide.
