I changed the dashboard LEDs on my 2005 TRD Tacoma from that dirty amber color to blue and white not too long ago. Near the end of my soldering when all I had left were the 2 right gauges and shift icons I plugged in the dashboard to check the lights and noticed a whirring noise but I ignored it (it didn’t make the noise in the other tests I did). All the solder points looked fine but when I finished and installed everything together I noticed that whenever I open my door the needles move up and down about a centimeter while making an obnoxious clicking noise then after a while a whirring noise starts almost like a small motor getting stuck and then it stops and all the needles work just fine. Recently my engine temperature gauge needle stopped working and although I believe it is the sensor there is no code. I’m hoping someone who is familiar with LED dashboard swaps can offer a fix to my issue. Thank you.
