Does anyone out there have pictures of DCLB trucks with the 235/85r16 tires? I'm considering doing a small bilstein 5100 lift and either 235/85r16s load e or 265/75r16 load c. I like what I've heard about traction with the skinnier tire, but I wonder if it looks too skinny. Thanks!

I'm pleased with my switch to 235/85/16 tires. They are a bit skinny but I like the practical pizza cutter look! Also, I gained about 2-3 MPG after ditching the 285s I previously had.

However, I haven't been wheeling enough to know how much better they are compared to wider tires.

Do you have to run a lift with these?

Not 100% sure. Previous owner did the 5100 bilstein 3" lift and I still needed to trim a little plastic moulding on the inside of the wheel wells so they didn't rub.

Thanks for the pictures! Looks like the 235/85r16 and 235/80r17 are roughly the same size. I dig it. Makes me think about going with a bigger lift....

Love the look of tall skinnys. Only cosmetic thing I'll note is they look better on wheels with a more aggressive offset so they don't sit sucked in on the truck. Other then that catch in personal taste, I've considered going to them instead of my 265/75 16s. I'd have to get different wheels though, they'd be too skinny for my 8" wide wheels.

I'd like to get some after market wheels with a bigger offset but they are hard to come by in anything narrower than an 8" wide wheel

True...you could also go for the utilitarian look and get some FJ Cruiser steel wheels, I believe they're 7.5", which is the max "recommended" wheel width for a 235/85.

There is a couple good threads out there with lots of 235/85 examples. Here's one: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/235-85-16-the-skinny.490070/
