Great product, easy install, no noise on the highway. And a free t-shirt??? Almost too good to be true.

I didn't use the corner pieces. The brackets seem to cover most of that area up..
Do u have pictures of where you grinded the brackets?

I'm sorry, but I didn't think to snap a good photo before installing them. I basically trimmed around the space where the hood hinge wants to swing. With the hood open you don't notice but if you slowly close the hood while watching the hinges you may see that the way they travel will interfere with the bracket. I'm not sure why they work on some trucks and not on others, but as designed there was no way my hood was going to close easily.

I tried to show where I cut the brackets and in the second photo showing the trimmed out area relative to the hinge. It was two long cuts, one along the whole length of the vertical, angled back length and a second on the mounting part. The top part, where the lights (or in my case antennas) mount wasn't modified.

I did end up using the corner plastic pieces, they got a big fat 'U' cut out of the middle and worked OK. I might pick up new ones from Toyota and try to cut just a slot that fits over the brackets, although I don't know if that will work or that it's even worth it.

I used the corner pieces but had to cut a big notch into them. Still a pain to get them back into their place.

Anyone know if you would have enough room to mount a light AND an antenna on one mount? I have a relentless fab antenna mount but looking to add a set of lights. Or maybe just both sets of mounts if it'll work.

I made a mount for my gopro on the mount and doesnt require any drilling, its bolt on and would work for an antenna. Ill take a picture in a few

I drilled 2 holes, 1 for the light itself and 1 for the tripod mount (or antenna). I grinded mine down to fit with the tripod mount. Just need to resand it and paint it due to rust. I believe you can get these metal tabs at home depot, just had a few layin around my house.

Just got mine in today. Had the same mounts on my 4Runner they required cutting too. Going to install mine this weekend I'll post up pictures and a review of how they fit when i get them installed. Oh and the free shirt is a nice touch!

I really want to run duallies i just don't want to pay for them:rofl:I ended up just getting a par of cubes off Amazon. I had them on my 4Runner they put out a good amount of light (Not as much as the duallies I'm sure) only recommendation is that you take you make sure they screws are tightened so water gets in.

With all of these fitment issues I'm seriously looking at the SDHQ A-pilar mount instead even with the higher price.

Our mounts are 100% bolt on using the factory hood hinge hardware. They are designed, built and packaged 100% in the USA at our Gilbert AZ shop, no outsourcing here.

Were the issues with these brackets ever solved? I ordered a pair cause they had a sale and now I'm hoping they'll install okay.

    What company?
Cbi brackets have a lot of bad reviews online. But mine worked perfectly and installed without "issues" no modifying.

Yea it's a cbi thread one that's gotten alot of other vendor name drops..anyways.. the post above yours is about sdhq, so I wasn't sure what ones you meant.
I bought cbi ditch light brackets. Had no issues. I can see how installing them under hood hinge could create a hood gap.
