I don't think I noticed any hood gap on my truck. Maybe I'll try to compare my truck vs my moms truck and post pics of the difference.

I have the brackets and love them, no hood alignmet issues, it was tight to fit mine on the driver side. I did cut more of the cowling then you did. Chance are the added thickness of the plate is the difference. Cleance the cowl plastic a bit more amd the hood will probably close without an issue

Here's the cause of the hood alignment issue:

Here's what I had to do to get rid of the hood alignment issue. Only put in the drivers side since I bought them to mount an antenna.

I also had the misaligned hole which required enlarging the hole in the truck.

Don't understand why they would give grade 8 SAE bolts instead of metric for mounting.

Maybe there's some explanation, but these seem poorly thought out.

Final result, don't think the gap that's left has anything to do with the ditch light bracket but wish I'd taken a before picture.

I do like where the antenna mounts, it's pretty much hidden by the pillar, I did have to enlarge the hole to 1/2". I may go back and add a gusset to reduce the movement, the bracket is a little close to the windshield so when the antenna gets bent back from a tree I'm worried the bracket might come in contact. Will have to watch it tomorrow when I take it for a drive.

If one doesn't go Rigid Duallys, what is the second best option? Prefer cubes.

    Favorite mounts?

Put mine on about 2 months ago fit like a glove. And the bolts worked. I got a free shirt too when I ordered mine. I don't have any closeup pics of them on the truck though.

No hood issues here. In order to get all the bolts lined up, I had to thread each one through the bracket before tightening down any of them. If I had handed tightened even one, the other holes would not have lined up.

My hood shuts fine but I had to take a drill to my truck to get the holes to match up.
