Hello all and thank you for the comments and feedback. Here is what we suggest at this time.

    1. The CBI Ditch Light Brackets should not cause any fitment issues with the hood. The pictures posted above from @M192 are right on point for the fitment. If anyone has fitment issues please give us a call and we can go over the installation and product and determine if there is an issue with either and then address the remedy.
    2. The installation instructions were wrong but are being changed this morning. The errors were on our part when we put the instructions together. The factory holes to be used are should align with the brackets without modification. Also the bracket should mount on top of the hood hinge bracket rather than below it. This is something that many people get wrong. Also it is important to note that hood alignment should be checked after installation as the hood can move slightly during install and cause some differences from side to side.
    3. There is minor trimming of the plastic cowling for proper fitment. The corner piece does not go back in either. Neither the trimming nor the removal of the plastic corner piece will have any affect on the engine bay or water entrance. Water is already flowing through in these areas.
    4. Bolt hole sizes... This is a quality control issue that we need to address if some are having this issue You can be certain that we will address it! For now if anyone receives parts that are not correct please let us know so that we can get you correct parts!

We checked a tacoma that we have in the shop this morning regarding these issues and as long as the installation is done correctly the brackets will fit without causing fitment issues on the hood. Again if anyone is having these types of issues please let us know so we can determine if there are any other issues that need resolved. Just a reminder that if you need assistance please give us a CALL as we don't always see the activity on all social media and forums.

Thanks to all who have been CBI Customers in the past and are becoming CBI customers each day! You guys are all great!!!

I search alot but personally don't like the other options. So I had to get these to see for myself. o_OI didn't get instructions but it was not hard to see where they go. Bolts had to be hand screwed into brackets prior to install due to paint/powder coat filling the holes.
The rest of installing these went smooth
    NO Drilling.

I think it would be easy to mistake where these brackets go and/or installing bracket underneath hood hinge leaving a nasty hood gap.

Overall I am very happy with how these were made.
Good instructions and pictures of cowl before and after cutting it would make this product even better.

Thank you for the feedback and purchase @ChemDawg. Just an FYI that we do have instructions for these on the website as well but like you said they are pretty easy to install. The newly changed instructions should be updated on the website by tomorrow.

I have your ditch light mounts. I do have a issues with the fit of the hood now. Well did. There is a piece of the hinge that looks almost like a stop for the hood. This is to long when your bracke is put on. I used lip stick to mark the contact point then drilled out a spot for it to fit

My mounts bolted right up. The most time consuming part was trimming the cowl only cause I'm super OCD. And they threw in a free t shirt as well.

I plugged them in and they are pretty damn bright. They are one of the brands off eBay but they are all the same damn light. They seem pretty solid I just hope they seal well and don't get condensation in them.

bolted mine up yesterday in about 30 minutes! really easy to do, only thing that needed fixing was one of the holes on each side needed to be drilled out on my truck about 1cm. besides that everythings good and no hood issues!

I got my brackets in, they required some trimming and grinding to clear the hood hinge but they work well now. Basically I had to make the vertical part about 1/2" thinner. I also ended up using 5/16" bolts instead of the included 3/8" and that eliminated any need to drill any holes.

Got my cowl trimmed to fit.

But question, were you guys able to use the two windshield plastic corner pieces? I don't see how there would be much left of them if I started trimming.
