I'm adding on to the family and come March of next year will need to be able to haul a tiny human in the Tacoma. I've done a few searches and came up with some older threads , nothing really too current on which new board and infant seats work in the 2nd gen DC. The wife's car will probably do most of the baby hauling but for the odd occasion we need to all go in the tacoma I need something that will work out. Suggestions would be great. Not too concerned with front passenger leg room, wife is short so she can move her seat up without issue.

I got a gracco extend2fit 3-in-1 in mine. Plenty of room for my wife who is 5-5. Not as comfortable feeling as some car seats out there but he doesn’t complain. Still rear facing at 3 1/2.

Check out clek carseats. I got 1 Clek Liing infant seat and 2 Clek Olli booster seats in my double cab. Me and the wife are 5'7 so legroom is enough for us.

I looked at that one and I think we want like the infant style with a base until they grow into something like that. I like the portability of the base system. I'll just have to buy potentially two car seats, one for each vehicle. Unless we decide we want to sell off the Leaf or my Truck for a Rav4 Plug in Hybrid. But two paid off cars is kinda nice.

The double cab has plenty of room. You can pick whatever you like. My advice is for you and your wife to get either matching seats or seats that use the same base. Doing that will allow you to do baby transfers very easily.

We were looking at the Graco stuff because they have a stroller thing you can clip the infant carrier into it. But it seems Chico does the same and its $10 less than the Graco

Just went through this last year. My truck is an '07 more-door. We got two Graco Snugride 35 Lite LX bases and the seat that goes with it. I use the center seatbelt to winch it in place, stays solid. Note- some of the bases have an extra clip that holds the seatbelt tight, I highly suggest that as it keeps it very firmly mounted without lateral movement.

My son is 13mo now, still obviously rear facing, wife is 5'0", I'm 5'9", car seat is in the center. No issues, plenty of room. The seat also pops out and onto a stroller as well, which many of them do. Mainly got it because of the wife's small size, she needed something light weight.

Just had twins recently and we went with the same car seats. They fit just fine in the back seat with enough room for me in the driver seat(I am 6’ tall) and my wife riding in the passenger. Also, we haven’t tried it yet but it looked like enough room for my daughter and her booster seat in between the twins. We also have a 2020 4 runner that we typically use to haul our family around. We fit much better in there with the twins in the middle row and our daughter in third row.

We went with the Chicco infant seat that clips straight from the carseat base to the stroller, that's a must have when they're tiny and sleeping all the time. Now she's almost 4 and been in a standard issue Chicco car seat that fits forward and backward. They'll come with nice ratcheting straps and all the options for various seatbelt types. Our trucks (and all newer cars) have those bars at the base of the seatback for easy clipping. Get a demo model in your truck and you'll see what's up
