Should have bought a v8 then.

Edit: as an aside, “looking for...something that’s got some girth” might be just the most apt Freudian slip for guys who do exhaust mods.

I haven't heard an aftermarket yet that doesn't sound like a fart rattling inside a coffee can.

Depends on how many of your neighbors you’re looking to piss off. Like, just the houses on either side or are you going for the whole neighborhood? That would tell me how many dB’s you’re looking to achieve. And whether you’re a dB. All at once.

Sorry @Blakeeyoungg - the V6 in this truck won't sound like you want and like others said, the sound you desire comes from a V8. Save your $800 and do something more useful for the truck.

And before you ask, the truck already has a cold air intake, so don't waste your money on one of those "cold air intakes" that actually is a hot air intake pulling in hot air from the engine bay.

Just a heads up since your new to this site. If you post a very generic question, you are going to get very generic answers. If you ask a real question with some details such as why you want the exhaust, what exhausts you have been looking at, what are you trying to achieve.. then in return you will get some really good inputs and answers from a lot of really knowledge people.

TRD exhaust from the trd pro tacoma sounds best in my opinion.

You won't wake up your neighbors by installing an aftermarket exhaust on a tacoma unless you go and remove catalytic convertors and mufflers. I've never heard a Tacoma with a proper exhaust be loud to the point it'll wake people up.

If people get pissed about a proper exhaust on a Tacoma, they'll probably be pissed at air compressors, power washers, and electric saws too.

Obviously you should be respectful to your neighbors. This means not revving it up at night and not driving like an asshole through the neighborhood. My last car was really loud. I was always friendly to my neighbors. When I got home late at night I would keep the revs down and neutral roll if it was in the a.m. The cold starts were pretty atrocious but nobody ever complained. And I live in an HOA, they complained about a few cactus plants in my front yard but not the loud exhaust. You won't have to do any of this though because again, no aftermarket tacoma exhaust with a muffler will be loud enough to the point it'll piss people off.

Neighbor two houses down just installed a new exhaust on his dodge POS.

I truly hope that his engine has a lifespan that matches what it now sounds like.

My dodge's bunghole, it goes Raaaaattataaplaplaplah pttth!
