so i want to get a exsaust system i want something that maximizes performance a nice low rumble but something that doesn't kill your ears on the highway. I also plan on installing doug thorley headers and i want to install i intake also i want to know what your running and what gives you the best performance. I was thinking maybe the volant with the ram air insert to the thorley headers and now what for exsaust ? lets hear what you have to say

Im running a 28" Thrush Glasspack with 2.25" Y-shaped dual pipes with 3" tips and I love the rumble. Its a decently loud noise but doesn't kill you on the highway either!

well i was thinking catback due to the simple fact that i dont think mufflers give you performance just a rumble ... so trd cat back , tell me more about them, give me the pros and cons and what you like and dont like i like to research every option before i do something and is the "stock" cat back the same as the trd cat back ?

sounds like i will go with the volant intake or maybe another still possibilites are endless to the doug thorley long tube headers into a trd cat back or maybe magna flow , still trying to figure out which one give the most performance

You need to search for the thread that documented the dyno results from several different mufflers. In that you'll see that if performance is your goal, and you are not going forced induction, that an exhaust mod is going to be almost solely for sound purposes. The 3-4 HP your might gain at high RPMs probably is not worth the $300-500 you'll pay for a catback.

Isn't the cat-back just a muffler with new piping? I think your serious more bang-for-your-buck mod is going to be the headers rather than the cat-back.
