After reading much back and forth, I saw I was reading 3rd gen info, over 2nd gen. So now to cut to the chase, for the 2nd GEN TACOS; for 35" tires, but currently I'm on 33's, is is better to run the 5:29's overall, or is the 4:88 the better gear for 1grfe auto??
--- If this info is already posted for 2nd gens, and I couldn't find it, please point me in the right direction. I wish to conclude my decision on gears so that I only have to pay once. Thank you all, Brothers of the Taco!!! Thanks in advance!!!

Rode in a buddy’s truck yesterday with 4.88 and 315s fully armored. That has plenty of power and got to speed like it was stock.
Just had 4.56 slapped in yesterday I’m running 33ish tires and I know stepping up to a 315 it wouldn’t be bad at all.
The 5.29s imho for a 2nd gen would be to high since we don’t have the 6th gear.

I agree. We got robbed a gear on our trannies, lol!! So for me, of whom doesn't wheel very often, and lots of hwy (DD), to gain a lil mileage and keep rpm's decent, and keep trans from gear hunting all the time, 4:56 would be the adequate gear?? I suppose??
