    Hello Anyone,
I got a frame replacement recall when I lived in PA and now live in SD. I am the Pastor of Scotland Community Church. I love it here, very rural and lots of farms and so much flatter. But I had to leave PA fairly quickly after I got the frame replacement to come here and I noticed that my gear shift is misaligned. 6th looks like 4th, 5th looks like 3rd, 4th looks like 2nd.....I think you get the picture. How do I fix that. I'm not grinding gears either. It just annoys me. Call me picky. The truck is a V6 4wd access cab if that makes a difference. Thanks.

I'm assuming manual transmission. Could you post a picture?

Yea, not getting how one gear can look like another. The frame isn't adjustable to the body or the transmission.

It's not in my head. All the gears go into there places so to speak but after there in the gear they look like they're in the gear next to it. There is an adjustment...does anyone know? That's all I'm asking.

No, there is no adjustment. The stick is loaded into the top of the transmission which is mounted to the frame cross member of the truck.

So as I understand everything appears to be shifted to the left with respect to the console.

I would remove the console and make sure it has been properly remounted to the floor of the cab. If it was mounted off center it would give the impression you describe.

I think you don’t understand how the gear shift mechanism secures to the transmission, what you are describing can not occur, there is no shift linkage to adjust.

There is a bit of wiggle room in the bolts for the mount to the transmission and for the mount to the crossmember, and for the body to the frame, console to the floor, and so on. If enough of them were "pushed" in the right direction before being tightened I suppose it's possible that the tolerances could stack up to equal about one gear position over or something, but there's no actual shifter adjustment. It's directly in the transmission. If the shifter isn't sitting where it's supposed to, it's either not fully installed or the transmission and engine aren't sitting where they're supposed to either.
