I used that guide above as reference but it was a missing a part here and there but for the most part it is super easy to do. Took myself about two hours start to finish with all the parts ready.

So I know it says you need the hood as well... Is it really necessary? If i'm going to be using an aftermarket bumper, do I need all of the little pieces you don't see? Ie. little brackets and mounts... I'm planning on just getting the headlights, little panels under the lights and grill then using an aftermarket bumper... would that work?

    read build thread
if you are going to use a plate bumper instead it saves you about 1/3 the work and cost. go look at homertaco's build thread for an example of that. you can ask him what other parts he did and didn't use.

you do need a new hood (also lock and arm), the new grill is wider and taller, and wont allow your old hood to lock down anymore. there are some additional fiddly bits and connectors that you will need.

simple answer yes. only thing you wouldn't need is the fender liners front bumper and front bumper crash bar and some of the smaller clips that hold the bumper on.

the little panel under the headlight clip into the little bracket which also ties into the fender, the headlight leg clips into one of the other brackets and ties into the hood support bracket with the hood latch.

The brackets under grill you will need because headlight one part mounts to brackets and head light filler one end mounts to brackets. Hood latch I thing will work got pic of comparison. Hood totally diferent so will need.
Edit new pic #1 were headlight filler mounts on bracket
#2 were head light mounts on bracket

Hey bro I'm right about to do this and I am using rg11 thread as a reference also. But I noticed that it was missing parts also . Can you let me know what parts are missing and also if it is possible to use the existing reinforcement bar/crash bar on my 06 Tacoma instead of buying the new 2012 crash bar ?
